Cornwall Mining Consultants was initially established as Cornwall Consultants Ltd in 1991, following several local mining subsidence events which triggered a greater awareness of the potential risk to housing from ground instability.
Initially founded by staff working at South Crofty Mine, we have grown to a fantastic team of highly experienced and enthusiastic professionals including qualified Mining Geologists, Environmental Scientists and specialist Research Geologists.
Our wide range of skills and local knowledge mean that together we offer a one-stop-shop for a vast range of technical services, each addressing the numerous issues resulting from the legacy of the south-west mining industry which we are dedicated to promoting awareness and understanding of.
Many of these services focus on providing solutions to keep property sales moving as well as assisting in land development and regeneration. Our considerable local expertise has seen us form strong working relationships with local regulatory authorities, solicitors, estate agents, surveyors and developers.
At the heart of our business lies the meticulous production of Mining Search reports which are prepared by our in-house specialists using data pulled from our extensive and incomparable mining archive. These detailed interpretive reports contain a host of information and are recommended by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, forming a pivotal part of the conveyancing process for properties changing hands in former mining areas. In fact, to date, Cornwall Mining Consultants have produced over 145,000 Mining Searches, many ordered via our simple online ordering system.
