Cornwall Mining Consultants were contacted by a home owner whose property was located on a cliff edge in the Cornish town of Porthleven. They had decided to sell and required a thorough assessment of stability prior to sale. Hired for our expertise, we undertook a detailed slope stability and coastal vulnerability inspection of the cliff and property. This was then supported by extensive desktop research which was carried out by one of our Chartered Geotechnical Engineers.
The onsite appraisal coupled with considerable desktop research enabled us to produce detailed Slope Stability Appraisal and Coastal Vulnerability Asssessment reports. These provided a current assessment of the existing cliff and offered an expert interpreted appraisal of the risk for the future, informing the client and any prospective purchaser.
